Shinagawa Ward is a special ward located in the southern part of Tokyo.
In 1947, the former Shinagawa Ward and the former Ebara Ward were merged and launched.
There were candidates for the new ward name, such as 'Oi Ward', 'Tokai Ward', 'Jonan Ward', 'Yatsuyama Ward', and 'Minato Ward', but the former Shinagawa Ward was followed.
Among the special wards that were born in Tokyo at the same time, it was the only one that adopted the old ward name as the new ward name.
The name of the ward is derived from Shinagawa-shuku, a post town on the Tokaido.
Shinagawa Station, which is famous as a terminal station and business district, is located in Takanawa and Konan, Minato Ward, not within Shinagawa Ward.
The Shinagawa container wharf (Tokyo Port) and Tokyo freight terminal station are located in the reclaimed land in the coastal area, and large-scale industrial land is spreading.
The areas around Osaki Station and Gotanda Station on the Yamanote Line (Osaki Fukutoshin) and Higashi-Shinagawa (Tennozu Isle/Shinagawa Seaside) are business districts.
Gotanda has the characteristics of both an entertainment district and an IT venture town.
Basically most of the area consists of residential areas.
The area called Jonan Gozan, including Gotenyama, is a high-class residential area in Yamate.
There are also many common residential areas, such as Togoshi, which is known for its Togoshi Ginza shopping district.

About a late-night charge
A late-night charge of 1,000 yen will be charged for late-night reservations after 23:00 pm.
Late-night charges do not apply for phone reservations made before 22:00 pm.
